Can I get a credit card after bankruptcy?

NJ Bankruptcy Law FAQ

Q) Can I get a credit card after bankruptcy?

A) Yes. Credit card companies may provide you with credit subsequent to a bankruptcy filing as a result of the fact that you are unable to file an additional petition for at least six (6) years. Individuals who file for bankruptcy and receive a subsequent discharge of their debt typically like to rebuild their credit, and a credit card company may be inclined to provide a credit or debit card to help them do so.
